Huon Capital
Huon Capital is a specialist Australian equities manager established by Michael Birch in Sydney in 2009. In March 2010 Diversa acquired a minority stake in the business.
Huon currently offers its services through private mandates on behalf of institutional investors and private client adviser networks. The firm’s investment objective is to deliver positive returns to clients in rising and falling markets.
Importantly, the manager recognises that in order to generate superior returns over the medium to long term, it is imperative to protect and preserve investment capital when markets become subject to stress. This requires an emphasis on risk management which is as important as seeking opportunities for rising share prices.
Headland Global Investment Management
Headland is a boutique investment management firm which focuses on investing in global macro themes. The business was founded by Jerry Pressnell in 2006.
The firm's proprietary investment process seeks exposure to a wide range of international fixed interest, currency and commodity markets. The quantitative process identifies long-term price trends in these markets and produces a portfolio which is very risk efficient, providing investors with a highly diversified source of absolute returns with no direct equity market risk.
In April 2010 Diversa acquired a minority interest in Headland, and subsequently introduced the first external assets to its Global Diversified Fund.
